The SPSCC Clipper men’s soccer team lost 6-0 to the Chemeketa Community College Storm at their last home match for the season, Oct. 23. However, the Clippers tied 1-1 Oct. 26 in their second match this season against Southwestern Oregon Community College.
The Chemeketa Storm scored quickly with two goals in the 13th minute from midfielders Edgar Ramirez and Caleb Buzzas.
“We were playing confident and hard going in to the game, and to see them score two goals within 30
seconds was shocking,” said Oscar Alvarez, Clipper midfielder.
In the match against Southwestern Oregon, Curtis Bones of Southwestern Oregon scored in the 20th minute. Clipper forward Justyn Taylor evened the score in the 75th minute. The first time these two met, the Clippers suffered a 2-1 loss.
Before the last game of the season, against the Pierce Raiders Nov. 2 at the Regional Athletic Complex in Lacey, Wash., the team was 2-9-1 for the season, making it No. 4 in the league.
